Killzone Specific Terrain
Key Principles of Kill Team
Wall
APPLIES TO: GALLOWDARK, TOMB WORLDWall terrain is treated as if it were Heavy terrain that extends to the ceiling of the Killzone. This means, that operatives cannot draw visibility, move through or climb over this terrain type. This takes precedence over all over rules.
Some Walls contain Hatchways or Breach Points (Tomb World only), refer to Killzone specific rules for more information.
Hatchway
APPLIES TO: GALLOWDARK, TOMB WORLD
Hatchways are doors that can be opened and closed by operatives during the battle.
A hatchway is either fully open, or fully closed. At the start of the battle, all Hatchways are closed.
Closed
Whilst closed, the Wall, Hatchway and Access Point are considered Wall terrain.
Open
While a hatchway is open:
- Its hatch must be fully open (it cannot be ajar).
- Its access point is Accessible, Insignificant and Exposed terrain.
- Its hatch is Wall terrain the gap directly underneath it is Blocking terrain.
Refer to the Operate Hatch Way action for rules on how operatives can interact with this terrain feature.
Breach Point
APPLIES TO: TOMB WORLD Breach Points are places where operatives can open up new access points within a Killzone. A Breach Point is either open, or closed. At the start of the battle, all Breach Points are closed.
Closed
When closed, the entire terrain piece is consider Wall Terrain.
The physical breach terrain must be placed fully inside the wall, covering the access point.
Open
Once opened, the Breach Terrain must be removed from the wall and access point and removed the Killzone. Its access point is Accessible and Insignificant terrain. Its access point is also Exposed terrain. This means the walls either side of it must be used for cover and obscuring instead. Refer to the Breach action for rules on how operatives can interact with this terrain feature.
Teleport Pad
APPLIES TO: TOMB WORLD A teleport pad is considered Exposed, Insignificant and Vantage terrain.
Only one operative can be on a teleport pad at any one time. That operative cannot be touching the Killzone floor on a teleport pad.
Equipment terrain cannot be placed within 2” of this terrain.
If an operative on the Killzone floor is touching a teleport pad, it is considered to be in control range of an operative on the pad.
Refer to the Teleport action for rules on how operatives can interact with this terrain feature.
